ROTOR v2 ships

This is really cool and I was waiting for this a long time know. Rotor (SSCLI) V2 shipped and you can download it from here. Generics, LCG, C# compiler with the new features like anonymous methods, new reflection. I just can't wait to dig into this stuff :)

New Windows Vista Build

It seems that there is a new Vista build (5342) is out there. 5342 is an EDW (External Developer Workstation) build and it said to be not containing any new features, just bug fixes. But Some people still found new stuff in the build... here.

Mech Commander 2 Shared Source

Microsoft released their Mech Commander 2 game's source code as part of their XNA stuff. I did not try to build it and never played it, but this is really cool way to get you started with XNA. The download is rather large (1069 MB).  The trial version of the game can be found here.

Made In Expres(s) Contest by Microsoft

This is really cool...


Do you like to use technology to have fun?  Do you like to build cool and useful projects?  Well then we have a contest that should be perfect for you! 

 

It begins with contestants submitting their cool ideas for projects built with Visual Studio Express and/or SQL Server Express, and completes when 12 selected finalists complete their projects and compete head-to-head with each other.  The Grand Prize winner walks away with $10,000.

 

The whole contest is about cool people doing cool projects with Express.  For example, you could build a desktop application that would monitor your mood based on how hard & fast you’re typing and then change your desktop and music to fit your mood.  Or, you could build an application that reads RSS feeds out loud to you in the morning while having coffee.

 

The possibilities are only limited by your creativity, and you’re ability to build them.

First Universal Binary from Microsoft

Microsoft released its first Universal Binary for the new Intel based Apple computers. The application to be the first ever is:

IntelliPoint 6.0 Mouse Software for Mac OS 10.2.x to 10.4

I think it is great to see Microsoft to release universal binary so quick. I normally not interested in Apple stuff but nowadays I am thinking hard to buy an Intel based Mac mini just for email and browsing.
